In recent years, the company has worked to connect Albania to the Balkans and the world. A very striking example is the collaboration with operators in Kosovo; Kosovar subscribers can communicate via ALBtelecom in Albania as if they were in their country, without replacing SIM cards at the border. The same goes for ALBtelecom mobile subscribers in Kosovo.
Until 2016, roaming services were offered for 3G, but in 2017, ALBtelecom and operators in Kosovo are working to offer roaming services supporting 4G LTE.
In order to support the availability of connection with Kosovo and Internet access to the world, ALBtelecom opened a second inter-country fiber optic path with Kosovo in 2016. This also aims to bring collaboration to countries in the region. It will continue to increase partnership and collaboration with foreign operators in the near future, through ALBtelecom’s connection capacity to the national backbone, doubling the international land connection with all neighboring countries and submarine cable.
